This used to be a blog for when I went to China for one month to study go, but now I'll use it to write about my travels.

prepare for lift-off
On Dec 31, I will be flying to Wuhan, China, to study go under a professional go player for a month. It's not a cake walk; I'll be studying for 8 hours a day for 6 days per week, for all of January. I'll try to post any updates on here.
Alan: "go"?
me: go is a strategy game
like chess
wei qi
Alan: really? You doing this competitively or something?
me: it's one of my passions...
i'm not good enough to be good competitively
but maybe after this month's worth of training i'll be better
Alan: The fact that you're going the distance for something you care about is AWESOME. Passion is the blood that makes life worth living...
me: hah that last sentence is awesome
although if you look at it carefully it makes no sense
Alan: Yeah, I was hoping you didn't catch that...
